EQUINE INFORMATION

The Bunkhouse is ideal for camping with your horse, a trail rider’s paradise! It is a “bring your own horse” facility surrounded by miles of trails to explore on horseback. You will find our equine accommodations to be safe and convenient. The trail terrain is varied, from class 4 roads, forest trails, fields and dirt roads with some vehicle traffic. Located in the remote mountains of Vermont, naturally there are hills to climb, muddy areas and streams to cross. We travel on mostly private land so it is of the utmost importance that all guests are respectful of the lands they cross so we can continue to have permission to ride in these lovely places. The trails vary in length from one hour to as many hours if you’d like. Besides trail riding, we also have a large outdoor arena available for guests to use.

Lessons are also available to you. Kelly will be happy to assist you with any problems you’re having with your horse out on the trail or in the ring. She will offer a patient, common sense approach to any type of rider and horse across all disciplines with a focus on good horsemanship. Areas of particular interest are ground work, trailer loading, obstacles (man made and natural) and western dressage.

Horse Trail Chicks

The Bunkhouse is one of the Horse Trail Chicks’ favorite places to take our horses for the weekend. It is a privately owned facility offering day use with access to trails, overnight lodging for riders and horses, as well as training and lessons. The bunkhouse itself sleeps up to 10 people and is gorgeously appointed with wood floors, antique furniture, western decor, a full kitchen, and porch.
